3 North Korean Orphans Need Our Help

Our organization, LFNKR, has just received a request for help from three orphans who, until recently, had been living on the street.  These children area girl, age 14, and two boys, ages 10 and 8.  Currently, they are hiding in China to avoid being found and arrested by Chinese police.  We need to lead them out to a safe country as soon as possible.

Below is the request we received from the girl, who speaks for her small group. Here is her story.

My father died when I was little, and then my mother left after his death. I was raised by my aunt.  But my aunt’s family was living in poverty, and it was very obvious that I was considered an extra burden on them.  So I left my aunt’s house and started living on the street as a Kkot-jebi (homeless child) in the F city market (names and places not disclosed for safety).

After becoming a Kkot-jebi, I met two boys who are younger than me.  We found it was better if we stuck together. Finally, it became too hard to stay in F city when winter set in.  So we decided to escape into China, but we planned to get back to North Korea when spring came. We arrived in xx Prefecture in China.

Soon after we arrived, a Chinese stranger who noticed us tried to drag us away, so we all screamed as loud as we could.  A kind Korean-Chinese man saw that we were in trouble and helped us. He then took us to xxx Church and introduced us to a deacon of the church.  The deacon told us that we could be arrested by Chinese police, and he took us to a Korean-Chinese village near xx city of xx Province.  There, for the first time in our lives, we had baths with warm water.  Also, we get three bowls of rice at each meal, and we are gaining weight fast.

We all want to study and lead safe lives.  Please help us reach South Korea.

These are the three children who need our help.  I invite you to contribute to these kids’ future.   Help the three North Korean orphans reach safety in South Korea.
